From November 12 to 15, Deng Xiang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of FIRI, accompanied by Wang Yuhong, member of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of Heilongjiang Great Northern Wilderness Agribusiness Group Corporation, went to Keshan Farm  of Beidahuang Potato Group investigates potato production management and irrigation and drainage, and promoted research and production cooperation with Beidahuang Potato Group.

During the visit, Deng Xiang emphasized that as a national team in the field of irrigation and drainage science and technology, FIRI has conscientiously implemented the work deployment of the Party Group of CAAS on strengthening cooperation between institutes and the local companies and "two engines"of scientific research transformation, giving full play to its own professional, technical and talent advantages, and making great efforts to improve the quality of the drainage project of irrigating areas actively and develop the potato industry of Beidahuang Group.

Keshan Farm is an important production base of Beidahuang Potato Group Company. The annual potato planting area is more than 200,000 mu, which is a typical hilly terrain. Due to the unreasonable design of irrigation projects or the aging and unmatched facilities, the low irrigation guarantee rate during the potato growing season and severe waterlogging during the rainy season often have a serious impact on potato production. Through in-depth exchanges, both sides reached an agreement on the design, implementation, cooperation plans and approaches of potato field irrigation and drainage projects.
