On the afternoon of July 10, Research Team of Modernising and Renovating Water-saving Irrigation Districts invited Dr. Men Qi, an irrigation expert, to the institute for exchanges. The exchange meeting was based on the theme of "Modern Irrigation Development". More than 20, including team members and graduate students attended the meeting.
After introducing the basic concepts and key points of canal monitoring, irrigation water utilization coefficient, and fertilization irrigation in the irrigation area, Dr. Men Qi said that surface irrigation is still the mainstream irrigation method, and fixed pipe and semi-fixed sprinkler irrigation have defects in fertilization. The sprinkler irrigation unit can achieve mechanized, intelligent, precise fertilization and irrigation, and the tow-pipe drip irrigation machine has uniform fertilizer and water application and effective application.
Regarding the development direction of modern irrigation technology, Dr. Men Qi put forward three opinions. The first is to pay attention to the application of soft PE film, nano film, water repellent/hydrophilic new materials, trifluralin antibacterial agent, herbicide, copper root drive and other new materials in irrigation equipment. The second is to carry out research on the effects of physical methods such as micro-nano gas, temperature, magnetized water, ionic charge, poor-quality water, and electric current on crop quality and yield, and formulate scientific and agronomically integrated irrigation and fertilization system. The third is to study the relationship between drip irrigation, high-frequency fertilization and shallow irrigation, soil salt accumulation, and large water pressure based on the ET0 big data of meteorology and the Internet of Things and the prediction and evaluation of crop yield.
This academic exchange broadened the innovative vision of team members and boosted the discipline construction of the team.
