On August 14, 2018, organized by Henan University of Technology, Seminar on Food Security for Developing Countries, a group of more than 50 people (officials and technicians from the agricultural and food departments of developing countries in the French-speaking regions of Central and North Africa)  visited the Qiliying Comprehensive Experimental Base and the laboratories. Yang Bo, from the office of research affairs and Zheng Xiaoyun, from the base office were responsible for reception and briefly introduced the basic information of FIRI.

At the Qiliying base, Fu Yuanyuan, from the Key Laboratory of Crop Water Requirement and Regulation of the Ministry of Agriculture, introduced the laboratory situation, the underground automatic water supply and drainage device and the data acquisition system of No. 6 leaching-pond to the government officials, experts and scholars of the seminar. At the water-saving equipment research and development center, The seminar was introduced the intelligent irrigation control management platform, the mobile irrigation vehicle by Dr. Cai Jiumao, and visited the fertilizer applicator, the experimental model of channel hydraulics, and various irrigation water treatment equipment. FIRI provided the PPT handouts of the introduction of FIRI in Chinese and French, which expanded its influence. The seminar members expressed a great interest in the achievements of our water-saving irrigation technology research and equipment research and development, and expressed their will to cooperate.
