From October 25th to 27th, the “Agri-hydrological Model and Precision Water Management Workshop” was held in FIRI, which was the eighth sub-forum of "The 1st Henan Scientific and Technological Achievements Expo of Universities and Research Institutes". Nearly 100 famous domestic and foreign experts in agricultural science and technology from USDA-ARS, Kansas State Uinversity, Flinders University, China Agricultural University, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research and FIRI attended the forum. Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Kang Shaozhong, Deputy Mayor of Xinxiang Municipal People's Government Wu Shengjun, and Director of Irrigation Institute Huang Xiuqiao attended the workshop. The workshop was presided over by Qi Xuebin, deputy director of FIRI.

The workshop was jointly organized by FIRI and the "Henan Water-saving Agriculture Academician Workstation". With the theme of "Agri-hydrological Model and Precision Water Management", 9 well-known experts at home and abroad gave academic reports on modern irrigation technology, precision water management, remote sensing technology, and hydrological models to discuss the way of development and innovation of future farmland irrigation technologies. The workshop developed the research ideas of scientific and technological personnel, clarified the development direction of the discipline in the field of irrigation technology, and laid the foundation for the promotion of future international cooperation.

The experts and scholars also visited the Xinxiang Qiliying Comprehensive Experimental Base, Hongmen Professional Experimental Base and Shangqiu Lizhuang Comprehensive Experimental Base of CAAS from 25 to 26.
