From July 25th to 28th, Henk Ritzema, professor from the water resources management team of Wageningen University in the Netherlands, was invited to visit FIRI and gave a thesis writing lecture.

During the visit, Prof. Hank, accompanied by Dr. Sun Xiulu of FIRI, visited the Qiliying Comprehensive Experimental Base and inspected the pipe irrigation test field, irrigation information system, irrigation and fertilizer trucks and other facilities and equipment. At the same time, he had interviews with scientific researchers at the experimental base and nearby farmers.

After the visit, Prof. Henk gave a lecture on thesis writing for our researchers and graduate students. Based on his years of experience, Prof. Henk summarized the structure of academic papers and the functions of each part in simple terms. He taught us his unique and practical thesis writing method, and provided one-to-one tutoring after class, which greatly helped to improve the literature reading and writing ability of our researchers.

This is the first time that we have invited Dutch experts to teach at the institute since our institute signed a cooperation agreement with the School of Environment of Wageningen University last year. It is a good start for the cooperation to reach a higher level. This visit strengthened the mutual exchanges between our institute and Wageningen University and promoted the further deepening of cooperation.
