Biography
Yang Gao received his Bachelor's degree from Inner Mongolia Agricultural University in 2002 and his Master's degree in 2005 and his Doctor's degree in 2009 from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. July 2005, he joined the Farmland Irrigation Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. From January 2013 to January 2014, he worked as a visiting scholar in the University of California, Riverside for a year of cooperative research and carried out soil nitrogen conversion research. From October 2014 to September 2015, he carried out a one-year cooperative research in Lancaster University, UK, to study the mechanism of the effects of intra-specific/inter-specific competition on stomatal behavior and root signal of crops. From August 2018 to April 2019, he studied the effects of water and salt stress on soil-root system in Lausanne Research Institute, UK. He has been engaged in research on the crop-water relationship, including water-carbon coupling process based on optimal stomatal behavior theory, and the crop root-soil interaction mechanism.
