Research Team of Optimal Allocation and Regulation Technique of Agriculture Water Resources

  

  

Team Chief  Qi Xuebin, Professor

Qi Xuebin,PhD, professor, doctoral supervisor, was born in January 1963 in Huxian, Shaanxi. He is now the deputy director of FIRI, director of the Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Water Environment Factor Risk Assessment Laboratory of MOA, director of the Key Laboratory of Agricultural Water Efficient and SafetyUtilization of CAASand Agricultural Water and Soil Environmental Field Scientific Observation and Experiment Stationin Xingxiang, Henan, chief of the research team of Optimal Allocation and Regulation Technique of Agriculture Water Resources, etc. He is also a member of thecouncil of the Chinese Society of Hydraulic Engineering, a member of the Eighth Academic Committee ofCAAS, and the editor-in-chief of Journal of Irrigation and Drainage. He has been mainly engaged in the optimal allocation and regulation of agricultural water resources, water quality and safety risk assessment in irrigation districts, and water-saving agricultural technology integration and demonstration.

 

Team composition:

        There are currently 11 membersin the team,of which5 have doctor’sdegreesand 6havemaster’sdegrees. More than 80% of scientific research backbones are under the age of 45. Theprofessional backgroundsof team membersinclude agricultural water and soil engineering, hydrology and water resources, environmental science, chemistry, etc. It is a multi-disciplinary research team focused on young talents.

In recent years, the team presided over and undertook more than 40 projects including National 863 Program, National Science and Technology ResearchProgram, National Science and Technology Support Program, National Natural Science Foundation, National Major Science and Technology Industry Engineering Program, National Science and Technology Major Special Projects, InternationalScience and Technology Cooperation Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the 6th EU Framework Project, the Ministry of Water Resources' large-scale Irrigation District Water-saving Renovation Projectof the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Public Welfare Industry (Agricultural) Scientific Research Special Projectand so on. The teamauthored more than 10 national and relevant ministries and commissions standards,regulationsand development plans such as Farmland Irrigation Construction Project Water Resources Demonstration Guideand. More than 200 papers have been published in domestic and foreign journals such as Water Resources Research, Journal of Hydrology, Journal of Soils and Sediments, Agricultural Water Management, Journal of Integrative Agriculture, Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, Advances in Water Science, Transactions of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering, Scientia Agricultura Sinica, Acta Ecologica Sinica, ChineseJournal of Applied Ecology and so on, of which, more than 10 papers have been collected by SCI. Nearly 20 patents and 7 software copyrights have been approved. And more than 10 works have been published. The team has cultivatedmore than 20 doctoral and graduate students.

Achievements

The team has won 8 provincial and ministerial awards in the field of efficient and safetyutilizationof agricultural water resources.“Northern Well-Canal Combined Irrigation DistrictsAgricultural High-efficiency Water Control Technology Model” won the second prize of the 2017 Shennong China Agricultural Science and Technology Award, and the "Northern Combined Canal Irrigation District Water Resource Regulation and High-Efficiency Utilization Technology Model" won the 2015 Henan Province Second prize of Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, “Research on Water Resources Joint Control and Protection Technology” won the third prize of Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2008, and “Inferior Water Safety Irrigation Technology and Evaluation Index System” won the second prize of Science and Technology Achievements of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2008 Award, “Shangqiu Experimental Area Agricultural Water Efficient and Sustainable Comprehensive Technology Research” won the first prize of Science and Technology AchievementsAwardof CAASin 2001. Theresearch results theteam participated in,“Research and Application of Key Technologies for Agricultural and Forestry Greenland Reclaimed Water Irrigation”,won first prizeof 2017 Beijing Science and TechnologyAward. TheIntegration and Demonstration of Comprehensive Water-saving Agricultural Technology System in Semi-humid Dry Well and Canal Irrigation District in Northeast China” won the first prize of Shandong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2009. The Efficient Agricultural Water Use Modeland Industrial Demonstration in Well-canal Combined Irrigation Districts” won the first prize of the 2004 Shanxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.

 

Research Conditions

The team relies on the Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Water Environment Factor Risk Assessment Laboratory of MOA, Key Laboratory of the Efficient and Safe Utilization of Agricultural Water Resources of CAAS, Xinxiang Agricultural Water and Soil Environment Field Scientific Observation and Experiment Station of CAAS, and Xinxiang Comprehensive Laboratory of the CAAS.The experimental base has a regional soil moisture measurement system, eddy covariance system, flow analyzer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, gas chromatograph, liquid chromatograph and other instruments and equipment. A large-scale lysimeter has been built in XinxiangAgricultural Water and Soil Environment Field Scientific Observation Experiment.
