Research Team of Modernising and Renovating Water-saving Irrigation Districts
Team Chief Lv Mouchao, Professor
Lv Mouchao, professor, doctoral supervisor, is currently the chief of the innovative team of the Modernising and Renovating Water-saving Irrigation Districts of FIRI, CAAS, the director of the Key Laboratory of Water-saving Irrigation Engineering of MOA and the vice-chairman of Henan Hydraulic Engineering Society. He has been engaged in research in the field of modern irrigation districts construction and transformation such as water-saving irrigation technology application and equipment research and development. He has presided over the more than 20 scientific research projects and published more than 60 papers, of which more than 30 are first authors and corresponding authors. He has obtained 14 national patents, and participated in editing 14 works. The projects presided over by him won a provincial and ministerial first prize. The projects he participated in won 9 provincial and ministerial and CAAS awards.

Achievements
By July 2017, the team has presided over more than 20 projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National 863 Program, Public Welfare Industry Project of the Ministry of Agriculture/Ministry of Water Resources, the Agricultural Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Fund Project, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The team has won 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 second prize of Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 second prizes of Henan Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 first prizes of Xinxiang Science and Technology Progress Award, and 1 first prize of China Agricultural Science and Technology Award of MOA and obtained more than 50 national patents, including more than 30 invention patents, and published more than 80 papers at home and abroad. There are more than 10 kinds of water-saving irrigation equipment and supporting products researched and developed. And agricultural water-saving irrigation technologies have been applied on more than 33,000 acres of farmland in nearly 20 provinces and cities across the country. The field flow regulation technology and micro-irrigation medium filter developed for the micro-irrigation system suitable for China's national conditions have been widely promoted and applied nationwide. The team participated in the formulation of national standards “Technical Standards for Micro-irrigation Filters Technical Standard” and “Design Specifications for High-standard Farmland Facilities”.
Research Conditions
The team relies on the Key Laboratory of Water-saving Irrigation Engineering of MOA, the Key Laboratory of Water-saving Agriculture of Henan Province and the Water-saving Irrigation Engineering Technology Research Center of CAAS. It has a dynamic particle image analysis system, a laser particle size distribution meter, a multi-parameter water quality meter, ultrasonic flow meter, soil aggregate structure analyzer, drain gauge, laser grader and other instruments and equipment. In the Qiliying Comprehensive Experimental Base of CAAS in Xinxiang, Henan, it has 24 leaching ponds, 2 solar greenhouses, and 10 acres of experimental plot.
