Efficient Water-saving Irrigation Technology & Equipment Group

 

 

Team Chief  Huang Xiuqiao, Professor

Huang Xiuqiao, PhD, professor, doctoral supervisor. He is currently the director and deputy party secretary of FIRI, director of the Water-saving Irrigation Equipment Quality Inspection Center of the Ministry of Water Resources, director of the Key Laboratory of Water-saving Agriculture of Henan Province. He was the member of a council of Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society and deputy director of the Farmland Hydraulic Engineering Professional Committee, secretary-general of the National Sprinkler Irrigation Technology Information Network, and vice chairman of the Henan Hydraulic Engineering Society and editor of 7 journals including Transactions of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering and Journal of Irrigation and Drainage. He presided over and participated in nearly 30 national and ministerial scientific research projects, achieved more than 20 scientific research results, of which more than 10 achievements won national and ministerial scientific and technological progress awards. He participated in editing 18 academic monographs, published more than 80 research papers in core journals, and wrote more than 20 project proposals and research reports.

Achievements

The Efficient Water-saving Irrigation Technology & Equipment Group is the earliest domestic research team engaged in water-saving agriculture and irrigation technology research and equipment development. It first proposed the concept and connotation of water-saving agricultural technology system, which made pioneering contributions to the serialization, standardization and generalization of water-saving irrigation products in China. It has technology, standardization and generalization, and has achieved fruitful results in theoretical research and technological innovation of water-saving irrigation technology.

In the past five years, the group has won 6 national, provincial and ministerial awards in water-saving irrigation technology and equipment:

2 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award

1 second prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements of CAAS, 1 second prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

2 first and second prizes of Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology, 3 first prizes and 1 second prize for agricultural water-saving technology.

The group has obtained 9 national invention patents and 5 software copyrights, published more than 70 papers and edited 3 monographs, cultivated more than 20 doctoral and graduate students.

 

Scientific Research Conditions

The team relies on the Henan Key Laboratory of Water Conservation, Water-saving Irrigation Equipment Quality Testing Center of Ministry of Water Resources, Key Laboratory of Water-saving Irrigation Engineering of MOA, Water-saving Irrigation Engineering Technology Research Center of CAAS, and Qiliying Comprehensive Experimental Base of CAAS in Xinxiang, Henan .

The laboratory is capable of developing irrigation-related emitters, filtration, fertilization and information equipment.

The testing center has the nation’s largest indoor sprinkling and micro-irrigation equipment testing room of 1400m2 (55 meters in length), which can test the various hydraulic performance of sprinklers under windless condition. According to relevant standards, it can test 14 products such as sprinklers, light and small sprinkling irrigation units, electric large sprinklers, emitters, etc.
