From May 30 to June 1, 2017, Dr. Marc Redmile-Gordon from the Rothamsted Research in the United Kingdom visited the Shangqiu Ecological Station. Wang Hezhou, director of the station and the staff of the Shangqiu Ecological Station accompanied the visit and discussed related collaborative research.

Wang Hezhou first introduced the geographic location and climatic characteristics, soil types, farming systems and crop layout of the Shangqiu Ecological Station and other agricultural production conditions to Dr. Marc Redmile-Gordon , and then led Dr. Marc A. Redmile-Gordon to visit the field test layout and main test facilities of scientific research topics of Shangqiu Ecological Station on the spot. Dr. Marc Redmile-Gordon also went to the observation area outside the station to inspect the soil profile types and the characteristics of soil salt transport. Dr. Marc Redmile-Gordon highly appreciated the achievements of the observation and research work of Shangqiu Ecological Station.

Dr. Marc Redmile-Gordon came to Shangqiu Ecological Station after attending the Nanjing University Climate Change International Cooperation Symposium. He discussed and formulated a cooperative research framework for the agricultural application potential of biodiesel by-products with relevant researchers from Shangqiu Ecological Station.
