On October 27, 2019, Dr. Ketema Tilahun Zeleke from Charles Sturt University, Australia, accompanied by Dr. Xiaojun Shen and Dr. Yanhui Jia, associate researchers of FIRI, visited the Lizhuang Base of Shangqiu Comprehensive Experimental Station.
Led by the staff of Shangqiu Station, Dr. Ketema Tilahun Zeleke visited the long-term experimental observation sample pilot of Lizhuang Base, large mobile rainproof shed, moisture leaching pound, drainage experiment field, comprehensive weather observation field and weighing lysimeter and other observation sites and basic research facilities. During the visit, Dr. Ketema Tilahun Zeleke had in-depth discussion with the staff of Shangqiu Station on the long-term station staff of Shangqiu Station on irrigation and farming methods of farmland in northern China, experimental design and use of facilities, utilization of long-term observation data, and expressed the hope to carry out more in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the efficient use of farmland water and the use and mining of observation data.
Dr. Ketema Tilahun Zeleke is an internationally renowned expert in agricultural irrigation and water management. He worked at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany and was awarded the title of "Humboldt Scholar".
